Sallyann Sheridan is an inspirational writer with
an enormous range of experience in the publishing and training world.
Her books have been published in the UK and India and her features and
short fiction have been published in a wide variety of publications including
that's life, Times Educational Supplement, Best, Here's
Health, Zest, Packaging Today and many more. Her latest book,
the novel If Wishes Were Horses, was launched at the end of September to
great reviews.
As a freelance copywriter she won contracts with high profile companies
such as Benckiser (producers of Finish dishwasher products and Vanish)
and WH Smith. For the latter she wrote The Good Handwriting Guide, An Introduction to Calligraphy
and the Painting for Pleasure series to accompany
their products. Sallyann also founded a magazine which she sold two years
later with a readership of around 30,000. Sallyann has worked with publishers
critiquing manuscripts, writing book blurbs, titles and promotional material.
She is also a qualified stress management consultant and trainer and leads
sessions with groups, companies and individuals. She studied training
in the USA and has led courses on writing at the University of Wales,
Writers Holiday, and throughout Europe. Many of Sallyann's students have
gone on to win competitions with their writing and to be published, and
for some it becomes a career path.
As an avid writer and reader, Sallyann can be found anywhere there is
an event around writing and as such has an opportunity to discuss writing
and publishing with agents, publishers and other writers. She is also
asked to be a judge for writing competitions and has a writing group named
after her.
Sallyann is a member ofThe Society
of Author and has been interviewed on BBC and Regional Radio
about her books and work. Also Channel 4 interviewed her as someone who
has overcome adversity to follow her dream.
